Industrial Mezzanine Flooring in South West England
Brief
A client based near Gloucester in South West England asked us to design a mezzanine floor for the packing area of their warehouse. Our brief required a heavy duty industrial mezzanine floor which was stable, rigid, structualy sound and suitable for use in the food industry. The floor also needed to incorporate a cut out designed specially for material distribution, down to the ground floor.
Consultation
After conducting a site survey our project managers came up with a number of solution to the problem based around a mezzanine floor design, these included a smooth finish mezzanine floor based on hollow section beams and perlins and a standard heavy duty mezzanine floor with a smooth plasterboard finished underneath to prevent loose materials and dust settling into the grooves around the mezzanine floor structure.
After negotiations with the client it was decided the hollow section mezzanine floor would be the most suitable design for the project. Our 330 square metre proposed hollow section mezzanine floor with a finished floor level of 4100mm and a loading of 10Kn per metre squared was excepted and we ordered the materials from a specialist supplier.
Supply
We ordered the mezzanine floor structure from a quality assured supplier which was delivered on time along with 6mm thick steel sheeting for the mezzanine floor, 83 linear metres of handrail and kick plate and a staircase with mid landing.
Installation
Our installers got to work on the floor immediately, with a tight budget and limited space to work we had no time to loose. Through a carefully planned schedule and with co-operation from our client we were able to fully install the mezzanine structure, mezzanine steel flooring, handrails, and staircase on budget.
